NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The Fourth of July is approaching swiftly, and if you want to celebrate with fireworks, it’s important to know what is, and isn’t, allowed in New Mexico. There are even ways to report people who aren’t following the rules.

Many types of fireworks aren’t allowed around the state, like mines, rocket-type products, firecrackers, and Roman candles. If you see someone using illegal fireworks, you’re encouraged to report them. These reporting avenues exist because unregulated, unsupervised firework usage could lead to structure, or wild, fires.
