Famous Miss Peaches Finally Finds Her Bark & Dave Portnoy's Reaction Is Priceless

In February of this year Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy brought home his rescue pup Miss. Peaches. Miss. Peaches was rescued along with 26 other dogs "from a hoarding/breeding/neglect situation in Atlanta" by the Lifeline Animal Project. It's been a lot of firsts for the sweet Pitt Bull since then, with Portnoy sharing how she's been adapting to her new life from a horrible situation to being showered with all the love and care any dog can ask for.

One thing about Miss Peaches, other than some sweet little whimpers and nap-time snores, we had yet to hear her really bark. That is, until now. Just check out Portnoy's touching reaction when Miss Peaches finally finds 'her voice.'

The adorable video was shared to the TikTok account for @ famousmisspeaches and fans can't get enough of hearing this precious rescue dog bark for the first time.

One person said, "It’s Dave’s reaction for me - like a kid on Christmas morning." It's so cute how excited he is. Another added, "Not Dave stalking and giving a play by play by whisper. Proud Papa, it's the giggles! I'm dead, bruh!"

Someone else sweetly replied, "Bawling on a Saturday morning cause she finally found her voice." Making a very important point, someone else shared, "This is such a big deal for rescue dogs. Mine took three months to bark- and then never stopped."

Dogs that comes from abusive homes sometimes do have a hard time finding their voice, and one thing we have seen through Portnoy's social media is that he has been so gentle and caring for this dog, encouraging her along the way and never leaving her side when she's needed him.

How To Help a Rescue Dog Be Comfortable in Their New Home

Some rescue dogs adapt immediately to their new homes and act like they have always lived with their new owners. But some rescue dogs may take a bit longer to warm up and feel comfortable with new people and new surroundings.

Coming from an overcrowded, loud shelter with lots of unfamiliar sights, sounds and faces can make any dog feel a bit nervous to be in a new situation.

One rule shared by rescue workers and shelters is The Rule Of Three , which is a general guideline of how long an adopted dog may take to adjust to their new home. While every dog is different and has unique backgrounds, the way they adjust to a new space, a new family, and potentially new animals will also look different.

It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.

All we know is whatever guidelines he's using for his sweet Miss Peaches, watching Portnoy's excitement over her coming out of her shell is just too sweet for words. He's really doing such a good job making her feel secure and loved.
