Laura Marling is back with her first album in four years, Patterns in Repeat. The Song for Our Daughter follow-up arrives October 25 (via Chrysalis/Partisan). Below, listen to a single, “Patterns,” and check out the tracklist. Marling will play residencies in London and New York behind the LP: four nights at Hackney Church (October 29 and 30 and November 1 and 2) and two nights at Bowery Ballroom (November 11 and 12).

Cass McCombs has announced a short North American tour for this September, kicking off shortly after a set of three reissues. Early EP Not the Way and the albums A and Prefection will get digital, vinyl, and CD reissues on September 6, from 4AD, with a cassette called 2000-2004 Demos, Live and Radio coming, via Orindal, the same day. In 2022, DaBaby was charged with felony battery and accused of sucker-punching a Los Angeles County rental property owner during an unauthorized music video shoot. The rapper has now agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor simple battery, TMZ reports and Pitchfork can confirm. As a result of the plea deal, DaBaby has also been sentenced to one day in a Los Angeles County jail (which he has served), given a year of probation, and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to the victim.

Chicago indie-rock and folk musician Tasha has announced a new album. Her third LP is titled All This and So Much More and arrives September 20 via Bayonet. Today, she’s sharing the lead single “The Beginning,” which comes with a music video directed by none other than Tomberlin. Queens of the Stone Age have canceled their European tour to allow Josh Homme to fly home for emergency surgery. The band did not reveal the nature of the surgery, but Homme disclosed in 2023 that he had undergone successful treatment for cancer. In a statement, the band said this morning (July 9), “QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
