Hulu is saying "Yes, Chef" to the The Bear.

The streaming service said the dramedy's season three premiere has garnered 5.4 million views worldwide in the first four days of release. The new season that aired on June 26, a day earlier than its initial release date of June 27. The series is now the best performance ever for an FX show on Hulu as well as the most-watched premiere for any scripted show and the third biggest season premiere of all time for Hulu. The Bear amassed 5.4 million views with a combination of Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S. and outside the States where the episode was available but there are still territories that have yet to see the episode. Disney explained that Hulu on Disney+ provided season three with a "significant boost" and also accomplished the biggest Hulu on Disney+ premiere since the joint bundle began on March 27. Disney acquired the Hulu by buying Comcast's $8.6 billion stake in November 2023.

Season three took fans back to the lives of Carmy and the Bear staff including Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and his sister Sugar (Abby Elliott) as he struggled with his mental health while trying to maintain his fine-dining establishment, he transformed into from his late brother's sandwich shop. Lionel Boyce, Liza Colon-Zayas, Matty Matheson, Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon also star in the hit series.

While the Emmy-winning show has been doing well with critics, fans, on the other hand, have panned the current season on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics gave the show a 94% score sealing the Certified Fresh status there while the audience score was 59% making it "Rotten on that side. Per the Rotten Tomatoes site, a film needs a 60% to be considered "Fresh" and anything under is considered "Rotten."

Many of the fans complained that season three was the "worst season" because they felt it went "nowhere" and was mostly filled with "flashbacks, cameo and filler." One fan wrote: "This was a waste of a season! Episode 6 was the best one. The story goes nowhere during the whole seaso" Another said: "What the hell happened? The interesting true-to-life kitchen drama became a boring self-indulgent mess of flashbacks, cameos and filler" Although in the sea of low ratings, some fans did enjoy the show: "Loved the change of pace this season and still keeps me engaged and entertained. Give me season 4 now!!!"

According to Deadline in March 2024, Season four was quietly renewed and were filmed back to back but FX has not confirmed the renewal as of yet.
