Jennie Garth has been honest about her bumpy journey with her ex-husband Peter Facinelli because they weren’t always friends after their split. In fact, things got so bad that he made the ultimate petty move after their divorce.

Facinelli, who recently appeared on her podcast, I Choose Me , shared a raw and honest portrayal of their “very fast, very furious, and very quick” marriage. “I didn’t have a sense of who I was, and so I was just trying to be all these things for other people,” he said. “I loved you and we had this beautiful family from the outside, but I hadn’t developed who I was. So how could you love me? I didn’t know me.” They had three daughters together, Luca, 26, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 17, but that wasn’t enough for him. “I didn’t know who I was and so I needed to figure that out,” he added. “I didn’t feel like I had the space to do that within the marriage.”

After his frank admission, the Beverly Hills 90210 star gave an update to her fans on June 30. “I want to share with you guys something really quickly. The good that has come from this pod… but specifically the episode with my ex Peter,” Garth said. “Guys, we are officially friends now.” And by friends, she means in real life and on social media. “I’ve been blocked on his socials for so long that I stopped caring years ago, but I’m unblocked now. That’s big news.” Facinelli didn’t want to see what his ex-wife was doing on social media at all, but they’ve finally come to a place of understanding.

It’s extended beyond social media, too. The 52-year-old actress revealed that she scored an invite to the baptism of Facinelli’s son Jack, whom he shares with his fiancée, Lily Anne Harrison . “Get this: he invited me to his son Jack’s christening,” she added. “And this week, get ready for it, we’re all gonna be going on a boat together with the whole family. Whether we push one another overboard, that is still TBD, but this is the power of the pod people.”

That therapeutic episode might have been hard for Garth and Facinelli to get through, but it brought them to a new level of understanding. They raised three beautiful daughters who will connect them for the rest of their lives, but they couldn’t see the special parts of their former relationship until now. It’s time they wrote a new chapter for their blended family.
