    Road Commission starts road sealcoating this week

    BRANCH COUNTY — The Branch County Road Commission begins its summer sealcoat projects this week.

    Drivers hoping to avoid the gravel tar-like substances used to rehabilitate the roads should avoid, if possible, these roads.

    Work is subject to delays caused by the weather.

    • State Line Road between S. Ray Quincy to Delmar Roads – 0.67 mile
    • S. Ray Quincy Road between E. Southern to State Line Roads – 1 mile
    • Hamman Road between the state line and Copeland Road – 2.61 miles
    • Lester Road between Ray Quincy and Kelley roads – 2.98 miles
    • Fremont Road between the state line and Copeland Road – 2.5 miles
    • Lester Road between Fremont and Legg roads – 0.51 mile
    • Warren Road between Fremont and Lake roads – 2.18 miles
    • Lawrence Road between Central Road and the end of the pavement – 0.1 mile
    • Quimby Road between Dubendorf and Central Roads – 1.55 miles
    • Fiske Road between Dubendorf and Fenn Roads – .69 mile
    • Wood Road between Central to the township line – 2.02 miles
    • Volkmer Drive – 0.55 mile
    • Lukesport Road – 0.65 mile
    • Lukesport Drive – 0.58 mile
    • Miller Road – 0.77 mile
    • Mick-Ke-Saw-Be Road – 0.76 mile
    • The LA Wood Subdivision – 1.42 miles

    Road Commission Manager Jay Miller said the work on 43.7 miles of local roads and 26.63 miles of primary roads would begin in the southeast section of the county and move west and north as the summer progresses.
