Fauci Recalls Confronting RFK Jr. After Vaccine Presentation: ‘I Don’t Know What’s Going on in His Head’

Dr. Anthony Fauci recalled confronting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after he was shocked at claims made about vaccines during a presentation from the now independent presidential candidate.

Fauci joined David Axelrod for the latest episode of The Axe Files podcast and at one point discussed vaccine critic Kennedy Jr. According to Fauci, Kennedy Jr. made a presentation to him, then the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on vaccines as he was lobbying to head a team investigating vaccine safety during Donald Trump’s presidency.

“The first slide I remember he showed is that ‘it has been shown that vaccinations are responsible for the following diseases,’ and he gave every disease in the world,” Fauci told Axelrod.

Fauci said he confronted Kennedy Jr. after the 40 minute presentation, which Fauci sat through at the request of Jared Kushner .

“We were walking out of the room at the [National Institutes of Health], I went over to and I said, ‘Bobby, I believe you care about children, and you care that you don’t want to hurt them,'” Fauci said. “But you got to realize that from a scientific standpoint, what you’re saying does not make sense.”

Kennedy Jr. has been a vocal critic of Fauci, especially over Covid-era lockdowns. He authored a book titled The Real Anthony Fauci in 2021 that focuses on attacking Fauci for his leadership at the National Institutes of Health.

“Fast forward, he writes a book called The Real Anthony Fauci and talks about how I was responsible for killing so many people with vaccines,” Fauci said. “I don’t know what’s going on in his head, but it’s not good.”

According to a Vanity Fair expose published on Tuesday, Kennedy Jr. was pushed out of an environmental non-profit after taking a meeting with Trump in January 2017 where he discussed leading a team focused on vaccine safety. The report includes a number of other wild accusations, including a former babysitter accusing Kennedy Jr. of sexual assault and a photo of him posing with a barbecued dog carcass.
