    Evers, DWD announce technical education equipment grant to serve more than 4,000 students

    MADISON, Wis. -- Gov. Tony Evers together with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development to serve over 4,000 students in 17 school districts will receive advanced manufacturing training thanks to grants from the Wisconsin Fast Forward.

    "By investing in technical education in school districts across the state, we are connecting the dots and expanding career opportunities for thousands of students while positioning our manufactures for success." Evers said.

    The current round of Wisconsin Fast Forward grants from DWD total $408,123 for school districts Wisconsin to train students for career paths involving robotics, welding, plasma cutting, 3D printing and drones.

    High school students will train in advanced manufacturing fields to prepare for careers while they obtain dual enrollment credits, industry-endorsed certificates, and technical endorsements.
