    2 people, dog rescued after boat has ‘unexpected’ electrical failure 75 miles offshore in Florida

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people and their dog were rescued after their boat experienced a “sudden and unexpected” electrical failure far offshore Florida’s coast on Sunday night.

    The U.S. Coast Guard Station Mayport said crews were called to a disabled “Spirited” motor vessel that was located about 75 nautical miles offshore in the Atlantic.

    After a whopping 13 hours of towing, the Coast Guard crew finally reached shore at 9:50 a.m. Monday morning.
