'My ex and I loved this baby name - now he's using it with his new girlfriend'

Is it a no-go or just taking the easy route to use the same baby name with a new flame?

A mom is left gobsmacked after her ex decided to give the name she adores to his new baby with another woman .

The pair had previously lost a baby through miscarriage and had picked out a full name for their unborn child. Fast forward four years, they had another child of a different sex, so the name went unused.

Now that they've parted ways, her ex and his new partner are expecting, and they've unveiled their unborn bub's name the exact one they'd chosen for the child they never got to meet.

Taking to Reddit, the troubled mum expressed her shock: "They are using the same first and middle name we had picked out together."

She added, uncertain if the new partner is in the loop: "I'm unsure if she knows, though. Would this rub anyone else the wrong way? ".

Some netizens sided with her, finding the situation quite odd.

One user commented: "Yeah that does sound disturbing. I would feel uncomfortable too. I bet his new partner doesn't even know."

Another quipped about the ex's apparent lack of effort: "I'd just laugh, he seems too lazy to think about other names."

Yet some suggested he might simply have a strong preference for those names.

"Maybe he just liked the names... I have known for years before I met my wife what I would call my daughter (if she agreed, which she did)... she miscarriage with our first one too, but we didn't change the name (we didn't know the gender)," shared another Redditor.

One person commented: "It's not weird, it's not your kid, it's not your business."
