LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Healing Appalachia, a concert that raises money to help restore the Appalachian region, will once again be headlined by country music star Tyler Childers.

Childers, who is an Appalachia native himself from Kentucky, headlined last year’s festival as well . He is one of 23 regional artists who will be performing at the three-day festival on Sept. 19-21, 2024, at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds.

According to an announcement on social media, Healing Appalachia, which is run by Hope on the Hills, aims to keep tickets as affordable as possible; the performers and other workers are volunteers so “funds can be directly distributed to recovery efforts across Appalachia and to cover basic production costs.”

The event specifically tries to combat the opioid epidemic in West Virginia and Appalachia and will help with efforts for harm reduction, recovery, music therapy, prevention, healthy reentry and wellness to “help make Appalachia whole again.”

Tickets for the event go on sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, and will include all three days of music as well as on-site camping. Although the ticket prices have not been released, last year’s tickets were $174 for the three days, and single-night tickets to see Tyler Childers were $90 before fees.

Visit the Healing Appalachia website or follow the event on social media for the latest information about the festival.
