CLAY COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Despite a rough start to life, BugBear from the Clay County Animal Shelter is the biggest lovebug you’ll meet, and he wants the chance to share that love with a new family.

Intelligent, sweet and curious, BugBear, a 3-year-old black Labrador Retriever, is pretty much the whole package despite being dumped by his previous owners.

This guy is one smart cookie; he already knows how to sit, shake and do other basic commands. In fact, he tries to show off his skills at any opportunity he gets, eagerly shaking the hands of any friend who walks his way.

Plus, he’s spry and athletic as can be, making him an ideal running companion or work dog.

Not only that, but BugBear is gentle and calm, and he does great around children and other dogs. His cool nature allows him to even get along swimmingly with newborns, pet technicians said.

BugBear is neutered and vaccinated, making him almost good-to-go. All you need to do is fill out an application and pay the $100 adoption fee.
