Samsung smart ring features leak ahead of rumoured Galaxy launch next week including stress tracking and snore detection

THE features on the brand-new Samsung smart ring have reportedly been leaked early ahead of the blockbuster Galaxy launch next week.

Samsung's latest piece of innovative tech is set to impress potential buyers with the jewellery able to track the wearer's stress levels, detect snoring and even measure skin temperature.

The small silver gadget is expected to be revealed for the first time publicly at Samsung Unpacked on July 10 in Paris - with many looking towards the ring as the future of wearable tech.

The Korean electronics giant is set to release the Galaxy Ring later this year.

Images of the ring were first released through a teaser in February.

It looks like a man's wedding ring with a metallic outside and a black inside of the ring with sensors monitoring your body's daily health.

The Galaxy Ring will be able to do a range of clever things through its multitude of sensors, say tech moguls Android Authority.

Similar to most other fitness gadgets the ring will measure the users heart rate and stress levels.

Both key pieces of data can be found easily in the Samsung Health app which is compatible with the ring.

Daily figures will be shown in the likely form of a bar chart with the app telling you where your levels sit in comparison to the previous days.

In order to activate the stress and heart rate monitors users will simply need to sit still quiet as they wear the ring and click measure.

Samsung have also tried to ensure the ring stands out from what else is available on the highly competitive tech market.

A trio of additional functions reportedly come with the fitness tracker including measuring skin temperature, detecting snoring and for women their predicting periods.

Some of the stats will require a phone in order to upload the data from the ring - similar to the Samsung watches.

The ring and watches will make up the collection of gadgets on Samsung Health.

Hon Pak, Samsung's vice president and head of the digital health team, said the health app has around 64million monthly active users.

Pak is also hopeful that first time buyers will not only look to purchase the ring when it is finally available but also pair it with a watch.

He added: "I want the ability to have other forms of wearables to measure health.

"And some want to wear the watch, some want to wear the watch and the ring and get benefit from both. Some just want more simplicity."

Samsung may have some tough competition on the horizon from its biggest rival in Apple.

Recent reports claim that the mega tech company is working on its own smart ring device.

The US-based company has filed for a patent for "a wearable electronic ring" back in 2019, and little has been known about it since.

But a new report by the Korean media outlet ET news suggests that Apple might be developing the ring for release in the near future.

A Samsung spokesperson said: "We strive to deliver the most seamless, intuitive consumer experiences to our wearable users, and we feel that the best way to do that is within the Android ecosystem."

Interestingly enough, Samsung has announced the ring won't be compatible with Apple products like the iPhone.
