RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – In Richmond County, a new middle school may not be ready for the start of the school year.

According to the district’s website , there are construction delays for the new Belair Middle on Potential Way.

It’s possible it won’t be ready by August 6. If that’s the case, students will be temporarily sent to another school until the new one is ready.

All families will be notified with at least 2 weeks notice.

“We understand the importance of this new facility for our students coming from Bel Air K-8, Copeland, and Langford middle schools, as well as rising 6th graders from Sue Reynolds Elementary School. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide the best possible learning environment for our students.”
