CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Governor Jim Justice on Tuesday announced the appointment of Todd Kirby as Circuit Court Judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit for Raleigh County
Kirby brings a wealth of experience to the role, including years spent as a practicing attorney in Raleigh County and service as both Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Raleigh County and a member of the House of Delegates with the West Virginia Legislature.
“I am extremely honored to have been elected to the position of circuit court judge and I am very excited to receive news that I have been appointed to fill that position based on Judge Burnside’s recent retirement,” Kirby told LOOTPRESS on Tuesday following the announcement.
“While I have mixed emotions as I step away from the House of Delegates, I am very proud of being part of a legislature that has done great work for the people across this state,” he continued, expressing excitement at the notion of being able to continue serving members of the community throughout the Raleigh County area.
“I look forward to continuing to serve the amazing people of Raleigh County in the years to come. I am very blessed to have the support of my family, my friends and my community as I take on this important role within our court system.”
While also citing the support of friends, family, and community in his personal and professional journey, Kirby credits his faith as perhaps the most significant factor in his endeavors leading up to his successful appointment as Circuit Judge for the Tenth Judicial Circuit for Raleigh County.
“I give all glory to God for taking a small kid from Fairdale and allowing me to reach this huge milestone in my life at a relatively young age.”
Kirby is an alumnus of Marshall University, where he earned degrees in Political Science and International Studies before earning his Juris Doctorate from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Virginia.
