Bryson DeChambeau might inadvertently get wish of not playing with LIV Golf rival

Bryson DeChambeau candidly expressed that he could never endure endless golf rounds with fellow LIV Golf colleague Pat Perez, pronouncing him "too damn funny" to sustain concentration. And with Perez's LIV Golf future at risk he might well get his wish.

When asked which golfer he'd opt to face in continual competitive play, DeChambeau admired Perez's talent but jocularly dismissed the idea of partnering with him due to his comedic disposition.

Articulating his thoughts, DeChambeau remarked: "It wouldn't be Pat Perez 'cause he's too damn funny, he's way too funny. He'd be great to play with though. I would personally like to play with probably Charles Howell. Cause he's the most positive individual I've ever met in my entire life. And he's just so nice and so straightforward and doesn't harm a fly."

In related news, Perez's lucrative involvement with LIV Golf might be drawing to a close. Signing early on with LIV in 2022, Perez was among the pioneering players to join the controversial Saudi-financed tournament and inked a deal said to be worth $10million.

His switch, however, raised eyebrows and attracted stark disapproval. Amongst the vocal detractors was none other than golf legend Tiger Woods, who publicly probed the motive and competitive ethos behind LIV Golf, particularly pointing out the incentive structure rewarding even those at the lower rungs of the league.

"It wouldn't be Pat Perez 'cause he's too damn funny, he's way too funny. He'd be great to play with though. I would personally like to play with probably Charles Howell. Cause he's the most positive individual I've ever met in my entire life. And he's just so nice and so straightforward and doesn't harm a fly."

Golf pro Pat Perez didn't mince words on the Son of a Butch podcast when he slammed Tiger Woods' comments about player incentives, saying: "That's the stupidest ---- I have ever heard of in my life. That's one of the stupidest things I think he has said. The incentive is the fact that last place is $120,000, first place is $4 million. You cannot win $4 million on the PGA Tour."

He also took a swing at Woods' early career moves, claiming Tiger had signed a "$40million deal right out of college," and enjoyed perks like "flying on the Nike jet". He continued: "He found incentive. He could have shut it down right then. He had a lot of guarantees. You know what, and he was the hottest thing."

Perez went on to critique Woods' selective tournament play, pointing out: "He's made so much money off the course, he found incentive to go. But again, he only played how many tournaments. He didn't go - I never saw him at John Deere, never saw him supporting all these events. He played in the majors, he played in the WGCs and that was it. He played Torrey. Never played Riv. But he's worth every dime. In fact, like I said, he's two billion short of where he should be, I think."

Despite his strong opinions, Perez's own standing on the LIV tour has been less than stable, currently hovering at 47th place with the threat of relegation looming. His recent T-14 finish in Nashville offered some relief, but with tournaments in Spain, the UK, and West Virginia ahead, he'll need to up his game to secure his spot in the series.
