‘What The Hell Is Happening?’ White House Staff Reportedly Stunned By Hunter Biden Joining Major Meetings

NBC News reported on Tuesday that Hunter Biden has become a more frequent visitor to his father, President Joe Biden , including some important meetings at the White House.

While the report notes that it wasn’t unusual for the younger Biden to visit the residence or attend functions, it is unusual for the president’s son to be in on meetings with senior aides . But this is precisely where he’s been spotted, by his father’s side following a widely-panned debate performance last week:

One of the people familiar with the matter said Hunter Biden has been closely advising his father since the family gathered this past weekend at Camp David after Thursday’s debate. This person said Hunter Biden has “popped into” a couple of meetings and phone calls the president has had with some of his advisers.

Another person familiar with the matter said the reaction from some senior White House staff has been, “What the hell is happening?”

Referring to President Biden’s remarks on the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity on Monday, White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said: “Hunter came back with the President from their family weekend at Camp David and went with the President straight into speech prep.”

Hunter Biden, who was convicted last month on gun charges, was reportedly one of the president’s biggest supporters following the debate, urging his father to stay in the race while many started to wonder if he should step down.
