FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Cal Fire officials say they are hopeful their fight against the raging wildfires caused by lightning in Fresno County will soon come to an end after weeks of containment efforts.

On Tuesday Cal Fire officials announced they expect to reach full containment of the Fresno June Lightning Complex fire by Saturday.

The fire currently stands at 10,616 acres burned and is 82% contained.

One structure has been destroyed, but fire crews have been able to successfully suppress further spread and no growth was reported over the weekend.

Although firefighters have been making steady progress, Cal Fire says they are not out of the woods yet, as an expected increase in temperature and low relative humidity may contribute to a spike in fire activity.

No evacuation orders are currently in place, but fire officials urge the public to stay vigilant as evacuation orders and warnings may quickly change.
