When it comes to the way a dog and cat are going to behave when they're introduced, it's always a bit of a toss up. Of course, you can (and should) definitely prepare your pet for the change that comes with adding a new animal to your household, and training in general goes a long way, too. But so much of their relationship is going to come down to luck. After all, every animal has their own unique personality, and some don't mesh... especially when we're talking about a cat who rules the house and may not want an energetic puppy messing with the flow of things.

But somehow, the kitten and puppy in this TikTok video? They were made for each other, and it's evident in the less than 30 seconds of footage we see here.

This video shared by @the_maine_coonies_ is all I need to see to know that this Maine Coon kitten and Husky puppy aren't just siblings — they're BFFs.

It starts off with a clip of the puppy and kitten fighting so gently that there's no doubt they're intentionally trying not to hurt each other, even if they are horsing around a bit. And a moment later, they're both laying on the floor of the kitchen, tenderly touching paws. These two are too much!

Commenters can't get over how cute they are, and honestly, neither can I. In fact, as far as I can tell, these two haven't realized they're not the same species yet. This comment really says it all: "So does the dog think it's a cat, or does the cat think it's a dog?"

Others pointed out that having both a Maine Coon and a Husky in the house is going to lead to a lot of pet hair, but it seems like it will be worth it. I hope she has a strong vacuum!

Dog Breeds Who Get Along With Cats

Like I mentioned earlier, so much of whether or not two animals gets along comes down to luck and personality... but you may also be able to help things along by choosing a dog breed known for getting along with cats.

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), breeds that get along best with cats are those that tend to be affectionate and social, rather than breeds who are naturally inclined to chase and hunt. Good choices include Bassett Hounds, Golden Retrievers , Pugs, Collies, and Bulldogs — and these are just a few from the list.

And if you aren't able to adopt a dog belonging to one of these breeds, don't worry: All hope isn't lost. The AKC points out that socializing your puppy and training them to respect your cat's boundaries is ultimately what's most important.

It's hard to know if they'll have a relationship as cute as the animals in the video above, but then again, will any dog and cat duo ever be that cute?
