White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is slated the hold the first press briefing since President Biden’s poor debate performance last week sparked panic among Democrats about the incumbent’s ability to continue in the presidential race.

While experts and Biden’s allies have attempted to quell the criticism , the shaky debate against former President Trump — including a perceived lack of energy and stumbling over his words — has led to calls for him to step aside.

Polling has also started to come out postdebate, which has shown some indications of Trump gaining in the aftermath.

The press briefing is scheduled to begin at 2:45 p.m. EDT.
