Corporate journalists are like toddlers. They are never sorry for their actions. They are only sorry that they got caught, and boy, did they ever get caught red-handed this time.
As you would expect from any elderly person suffering from mental decline who is also tasked with the most stressful job on the planet, President Joe Biden is worse off now than he was in 2020 . But the president’s struggles are nothing new.
Every discerning person, surely including the journalists who cover politics for a living, has known Biden was unfit to serve long before the 2020 election. The 2020 debates , while nothing compared to last Thursday’s disaster , were riddled with senior moments indicating Biden was not the same man who served in the U.S. Senate for decades or served as vice president from 2008 to 2016.
If innumerable instances of the president becoming confused, wandering off, and refusing to answer questions from the press since his inauguration weren’t enough to ignite the curiosity of our esteemed journalists, you would have thought Robert Hur’s report in February, which revealed that Biden is no longer mentally fit to stand trial, let alone occupy the Oval Office, would have our media talking heads itching to report. But you would have been dead wrong.
The jig ended Thursday night for our journalist friends. Their man Biden cannot beat former President Donald Trump, although apparently, Biden gave Medicare a solid beating (fact check: True, sort of). The entire journalist class must now pivot to acknowledging what we’ve all known for years: The president’s goose is cooked.
Some journalists, such as Mika Brzezinski, daughter of President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, have chosen to maintain their support even as the rats abandon Biden’s ship in terror, suggesting that Biden is still the “man for the moment” and that “one terrible night” is nothing compared to a “decade of destruction” to our “democratic values.”
Other journalists who still possess an albeit fleeting ability to feel shame have elected to report news more honestly. Carl Bernstein told CNN that multiple sources have said Biden has had over 15 “occasions in the last year and a half when the president has appeared somewhat as he did in that horror show [his debate performance].” The editorial staff of the New York Times is in universal agreement that Biden should drop out of the race. Left-wing comic Bill Maher declared open season on the Democratic Party standard-bearer: “Beauty pageant contestants answer questions better.”

Before you give these people credit for discharging the bare minimum of their duties after their hero, the president, displayed an inability to do the same for all the world to see, ask yourself whether Bernstein dusted off his journalism cap and slapped on a hearty portion of elbow grease between 11 p.m. Thursday night and when newsrooms opened Friday morning and uncovered the secret revelations of hard-to-get sources, or whether his motives are far more self-serving. The New York Times’s editorial staff has either lied to your face every day since Biden’s inauguration or is intellectually inferior to your local bartender or drunk uncle, who have known for years that Biden was unfit to serve.
Spare me, journalists. You covered up the president’s senility , you covered up the alleged crimes of the president and his family, you lied incessantly about every Republican candidate for office, and you made the decision to back an old man with apparent dementia because you thought it would help you transform the nation into your preferred totalitarian utopia. You bought the ticket, now ride the ride, right into a second term for the mean orange man.
