A recall notice has been issued for microdosing candies.

A company that previously refused to recall its products, despite numerous reports of people becoming sick after ingesting them, has finally issued a recall notice.

Prophet Premium Blends is recalling Diamond Shruumz Infused Cones, Chocolate Bars, and Gummies (Micro- and Mega/Extreme-Dose) because the products contain Muscimol, a chemical found in mushrooms.

The company had been refusing to take action, even though 23 people were hospitalized because of adverse reactions to the products. After negotiations with the Food and Drug Administration, the company finally recalled the products.

    What We Know

Reported symptoms included those linked to seizures, agitation, involuntary muscle contractions, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, nausea and vomiting, abnormal heart rates, and hyper/hypotension, according to the recall notice posted by the FDA.

According to the FDA, at least 39 people have reported severe reactions to the chocolate bars, gummies, and cones. Twenty-three of them have required hospitalization. A variety of serious reactions have been reported, including respiratory failure.

Upon receiving complaints, the company reviewed the products’ Certificates of Analysis (COAs), which showed high amounts of muscimol. Prophet Premium Blends initiated this recall and has ceased the production and distribution of the Diamond Shruumz product line as an investigation occurs.

    The Recalled Products

Diamond Shruumz Infused Cones, Chocolate Bars, and Gummies (Micro- and Mega/Extreme-Dose) were distributed nationwide through retail stores and mail orders. All lots and best-by dates and all flavors of Diamond Shruumz Infused Cones, Chocolate Bars, and Gummies (Micro- and Mega/Extreme-Dose) are included in this recall.

    The following products are recalled:

Diamond Shruumz Infused Cone in Cookies & Cream, Double Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate Chip, Sprinkles, and Strawberry Cheesecake

Diamond Shruumz Chocolate Bar in Birthday Cake, Cinnamon Bar, Cookie Butter, Cookies & Cream, Dark Chocolate, and Fruity Cereal

Diamond Shruumz Gummies – Micro-Dose in Blue Raz Watermelon, Grape Lemonade, Hawaiian Punch, Rainbow, Sour Apple Peach, and Strawberry Kiwi

Diamond Shruumz Gummies – Extreme/Mega-Dose in Blue Razz Euphoria, Radical Rainbow, Lucid Lemon Lime, Peach Paradise, and Watermelon Wonderland

Retailers and wholesalers should discontinue use, stop distribution, quarantine the product immediately, and contact their sales representatives to initiate the return and refund.

Consumers who have purchased Diamond Shruumz products are urged to stop using the product, destroy the product, and contact Prophet Premium Blends via phone at 209-314-0881 or email at info@diamondshruumz.com with their order number to initiate the refund.

Also, consumers are being urged to alert the company if the product has been destroyed so that they can keep a record of how many products may still be on the market.
