ATLANTA (WRBL) — Independence Day is upon us and AAA is stepping in to make getting home after the festivities easier.

The “Tow to Go” program provides free confidential rides that are available to AAA members and non-members alike, says AAA. The program will be active from 6 p.m. July 3 to 6 a.m. July 8.

When someone calls the service, a tow truck is dispatched to transport the vehicle and its owner to a safe location within a 10 mile radius.

According to AAA, the program has been in place for more than 25 years and has removed nearly 30,000 impaired drivers from U.S. roadways.

Georgians looking to use the service can call (855) 286-9246.
