    Water main break in Prince William County prompts delays

    PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A water main break in Prince William County was causing traffic delays for drivers Tuesday afternoon.

    The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said in a post on X at 3:22 p.m. that there was a water main break in the Centreville Road area near the Fairfax County line, prompting closures and delays along Route 28.

    PWCPD said that it is working with the Virginia Department of Transportation and Service Authority to repair the water main break.

    In an update , PWCPD said at 3:47 p.m. that two lanes of North Bound Centreville Road have opened back up along with one lane on South Bound Centreville Road.

    The water main break has affected 15 customers, according to Prince William Water.

    While the repairs continue, drivers were asked to find an alternate route while following police directions and signage.
