    These Morris, Sussex fireworks shows will celebrate July 4th with a bang. See the details

    With July 4 around the corner, Morris and Sussex county residents have a variety of patriotic events to attend this weekend, especially those that go "boom!" and "bang!" in the sky.

    You won't want to miss the the 48th Annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks . While this event is technically in New York City, the Macy's July 4th fireworks will take place on the Hudson River for the first time since 2013 , meaning New Jersey residents can view them from places like Hoboken, Jersey City and Weehawken. The show begins at 8 p.m.

    But there are plenty of Independence Day celebrations in northwest Jersey as well. Whether it's classic firework shows or live music and amusement rides, there is something for everyone this holiday, family- and wallet-friendly. While some towns have already held their shows, there are still plenty of festivities to come.

    Here's our rundown of Morris and Sussex County events.

    Morris County

    Chatham

    Chatham's Annual July 4 Parade and Fireworks Show. A patriotic parade on Main Street followed by fireworks at dusk. Residents can watch the parade for free; out-of-towner tickets cost $5 per person or $10 per family. Hours : Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. on July 4. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Go : Parade begins on Main Street at Hillside Avenue and ends at Chatham Middle School. Fireworks take place at the middle school.

    Denville

    (Note: Denville has rescheduled its show for July 13, due to potential storms.) Denville's 4th of July Fireworks Celebration . A free concert on July 4 by Street Hassle followed by a fireworks show, presented by the Township. Street Hassle is a horn band that plays classic rock, blues, Motown and pop. Hours: The concert begins at 7 p.m. Go: Gardner Field, 2 Savage Road.

    Dover

    Dover July 4th Fireworks and Celebration . Dover will be hosting a July 4th celebration with food, activities, live entertainment and fireworks on July 3. Hours: Starts at 6 p.m. Go: 302 E. McFarlan St., Dover.

    East Hanover

    East Hanover July 4 Fireworks. The celebration begins with food trucks and a DJ, followed by the fireworks show. Hours : DJ and food trucks at 7 p.m. and fireworks at dusk. Go : Lurker Park, 631 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover.

    Florham Park

    Florham Park July 4th Celebration . During this full-day celebration on July 4, there will be a flag raising ceremony at the Florham Park Fire Department at 315 Brooklake Road, followed by the annual town parade. Then, rides, food, games and more will be available at Emmett Park Field, with fireworks in the evening. Hours: 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Go: Emmett Park Field, 111 Ridgedale Ave., Florham Park.

    Mountain Lakes

    Mountain Lakes July 4th Fireworks . A festive July 4th show will take place over Mountain Lake, and Island Beach will be open for viewing. Hours: Starts at 9 p.m. Go: 276 Boulevard, Mountain Lakes

    Parsippany

    Parsippany July 4th Fireworks and Rock Show. On Thursday, July 4, fireworks and live music will commence at Parsippany Hills High School. Hours: Area opens at 5 p.m. and rock show begins at 7:30 p.m. Go : 20 Rita Dr, Parsippany

    Randolph

    Randolph Freedom Festival . Held from July 11 to 13, the Randolph Freedom Festival will feature live music, games, food, a beer garden and fireworks. Hours: 6 to 11 p.m. Go: 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph.

    Rockaway Borough

    Rockaway Boro Family Festival 2024. The Borough's 47th year with Garden State Fireworks will feature food trucks, a beer truck (age 21 and older with ID), live music by Back to Rock and Street Hassle. and 50/50 raffles to support the RBFD. The rain date is July 7. Hours: The event begins at 4 p.m. with Bach to Rock performing until 6 p.m. Street Hassle performs from 7 to 9:30. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at 9:30. The fireworks will follow. Go: Fireman's Field, 144 Beach St.

    Sussex County

    Augusta

    July 4th Hometown Heroes Parade and Sussex County Miners Game . In Augusta on July 4, events include the Hometown Heroes Parade, a game between the Sussex County Miners and the New Jersey Jackals, as well as a fireworks display. Hours: Starts at 4:30 p.m. Go: 94 Championship Place, Augusta.

    Vernon

    Vernon July 4 Fireworks. This event has something for everyone. From bouncy houses, a petting zoo, and amusement rides to fireworks, food, and lawn games, don't miss out on this Independence Day celebration. Hours : Events begin at 5 p.m. and fireworks start at nightfall. Go : Mountain Creek, 200 Route 94, Vernon.

    Branchville

    Branchville's July 4 Firework Celebration will be held on July 6. The show will take place at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. Hours : Begins at 9:30 p.m. Go : 37 Plains Rd, Augusta
