EXCLUSIVE: Creator, actor, writer and producer Laci Mosley and ABC News Studios are in production on a TV adaptation of her Scam Goddess podcast.

Mosley will serve as the host of the non-scripted show, sources tell Deadline, which is based on her eponymous podcast.

Scam Goddess launched in 2019 and is dedicated to fraud and all those who practice it. Each week, Mosley, creator and host, keeps listeners up to date on current rackets, digs deep into the latest scams and breaks down historic hoodwinks alongside comedians.

Recent episodes have featured singer-songwriter and actor Luke James discussing scam rappers; comedian Kyle Kasabian sharing thoughts on the 2019 case of reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were charged with various crimes; and Insecure star Jay Ellis discussing career criminal Gerald Blanchard.

In 2022, Scam Goddess was named one of Time Magazine’s 10 Best Podcasts of the year. Most recently, Mosley won Best Overall Host Award at the 2024 iHeart Podcast Awards.

Further building on her Scam Goddess IP, Mosley’s debut book Scam Goddess: Lessons from a Life of Cons, Grifts, and Schemes (Running Press) will drop September 10. The book is an essay collection about the frauds, cons and schemes in our world, and how the scammer mind-set has affected Mosley’s upbringing, career, friendships and love life. To celebrate the show’s fifth anniversary, Mosley will host a live show at downtown Los Angeles’ Regent Theater on September 22.

As an actor, Mosley most recently appeared in the Netflix comedy The Out-Laws , starred in the Paramount+ reboot of iCarly alongside Miranda Cosgrove, and recently recurred on NBC’s Lopez vs. Lopez . She is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.

ABC News Studios produces and commissions documentary original productions and commissioning partner of series and specials with a focus on true crime, investigations, pop culture and news-adjacent stories.

ABC News Studios, inspired by ABC News’ reporting, previously adapted for TV the ABC News podcast Betrayal: The Perfect Husband for Hulu.
