Yogurt-flavored pretzels were recalled in Louisiana and Texas.
More recalls have been issued this week and you will want to heck your pantry for the latest if you live in Louisiana or Texas. GNS Foods, Inc. of Arlington, Texas is recalling certain Drug Emporium Yogurt Flavored Pretzels because of another recall that impacts the products.
This one could make you sick!
What We Know About The Recall
An earlier recall was issued for lactose or lactose powder from Grande Ingredients in Wisconsin. Those ingredients were used in the pretzel product that is now being recalled because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
According to the details posted online by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), the recall was initiated on May 6, 2024, and is ongoing.
The recalled products were distributed in Texas and Louisiana.
The specific recalled product was packaged under the name Drug Emporium Yogurt Flavored Pretzels, in 8oz (227g) packages. The company is recalling 96 bags.
The bags have the Lot Number or ID:30723 and an Expiration/Use By Date of 2025-01-22.
About Salmonella Infections
Anyone who has consumed any of the recalled products and developed symptoms of Salmonella infection should seek medical attention. Sick people should tell their doctors about the possible exposure to Salmonella bacteria because Salmonella infection symptoms can mimic other illnesses, frequently leading to misdiagnosis.
Symptoms can include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. Otherwise, healthy adults are usually sick for four to seven days. In some cases, however, patients require hospitalization.
Older adults, children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop a severe illness and serious, sometimes life-threatening conditions, so this is a recall to take seriously!
Some people get infected without getting sick or showing any symptoms. However, they may still spread the infections to others.
You should not eat the recalled product. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Receipts are not needed to return recalled products.
