The latest episode of the Star Wars series The Acolyte features Kylo Ren‘s theme music, a move that showrunner Leslye Headland said was done completely on purpose.

When did Kylo Ren’s theme play in Episode 5?

Speaking to Inverse, Headland was asked about the moment, which saw Qimir — the Sith Lord who revealed himself at the end of the episode — be accompanied with Ren’s music from the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

The surprising moment was quickly realized by fans, who wondered what it might mean. Headland said the moment was intentional, but wouldn’t elaborate much further.

“Ah, wish I could,” said Headland. “It is there on purpose, but I can’t tell you why, and I can’t go into what it is. But you shall see.”

Currently, it’s unknown whether or not the upcoming episodes of The Acolyte will address the moment, or if it’s one of the several mysteries that Headland also teased would be coming in a potential second season of the series.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is written and executive produced by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as showrunner. The series stars Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae, with other cast members including Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), and Star Wars sequel trilogy alum Joonas Suotama as a new character in the form of a Wookiee Jedi master.
