    Free fishing days announced for California public

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has released the dates of two, free fishing days for all Californians.

    On July 6 and August 31, the public is invited out to California’s lakes, rivers and streams to fish with no license required. Free fishing days offer first time anglers and families a chance to try out the hobby.

    The regulations regarding fish size and bag limits, fishing hours, and report card requirements remain in effect, according to officials. Fishers are encouraged to check the rules and regulations for each body of water they intend to fish at.
