Looking to catch some fireworks this year for the 4th of July holiday? While most personal fireworks are illegal in most cases around Colorado, official shows are a great place to join in on the festivities.
Here's a look at 9 places to catch some fireworks around the state:
1. Avon
Avon hosts its "Night at the Park" Fourth of July celebration on the night of July 3. Festivities include food trucks, live music, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, an evening concert, and of course, the fireworks display.
2. Steamboat Springs
Steamboat's Fourth of July celebration will include a parade, live music, a farmer's market, and more. There will be a fireworks display at Steamboat Lake State Park on July 6. Check out the full schedule here .
3. Buena Vista
Buena Vista will host a Fourth of July festival including a parade and more festivities, like live music, food trucks, and other entertainment at McPhelemy Park. Fireworks will take place after dusk. Find more information here .
4. Ouray
As well as a fireworks display, Ouray's Fourth of July celebration includes a parade, water fights, and the jeep glow parade. Check out the full schedule here .
5. Pagosa Springs
Pagosa Springs will have a parade and "Freedom Float" where participants will float through the downtown area on the San Juan River. These events will be followed by the Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo, a community concert, and fireworks on the Fourth of July.
6. Breckenridge
Although Breckenridge will not have fireworks (fire safety reasons), the town has plenty of other events to celebrate the holiday. Events include the Independence Day Parade and the National Repertory Orchestra Fourth of July Spectacular, and much more. Check out the full schedule here .
7. Crested Butte
Mt. Crested Butte will host a Fourth of July celebration at the resort's base area. Festivities will include a free family-friendly concert, food and beverage, and a fireworks show starting at dark.
8. Denver
Denverites will see fireworks over Coors Field after the Rockies games on Thursday and Friday and at Elitch Gardens on July 5. Denver will also host its Indy Eve celebration at Civic Center Park on July 3, with a drone show.
9. Colorado Springs
The Banning Lewis Ranch 4th of July Celebration will include live music, food trucks and free bounce houses. The Gold Camp 4th in Cripple Creek celebration consists of family activities, vendors, live music, donkeys, and more. Fireworks will also be found throughout the town on the Fourth.
