Shannon Sharpe Apologizes To Megan Thee Stallion For Making Inappropriate Comments

Shannon Sharpe is apologizing to Megan Thee Stallion for the inappropriate comments he made about her last year. Sharpe invited Megan for an interview on his Club Shay Shay podcast.

“Meg, before we go any further, I want to apologize to you personally,” Sharpe told Megan, according to Complex . “I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you—I didn’t know if that was going to be possible. But I was always hoping that I got an opportunity to bump into you because I … told a joke and I said it in jest, but I believe the joke would have been just as funny had I left you out of it. So for any unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I want to say, as a man, as I sit here before you, I apologize.” Written source for this quote? Link?

Megan didn’t hesitate to accept the apology.

“I appreciate that. Thank you,” she told Sharpe, placing her hands over her heart.

They then took a sip of Sharpe’s cognac brand, Shay by Le Portier, to celebrate the resolution.

Sharpe made the inappropriate comment in November 2023 during an episode of his Nightcap podcast with co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. As the pair discussed the rapper’s “Stallion” moniker, the conversation shifted to comments about her body.

“I’d have her stretched out like a quarter to three,” Sharpe said, Complex reported. “I do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard, and continuously … I’d have her opening up like saloon doors.”

Megan also discussed her journey in music and the challenges she’s overcome. The 29-year-old star specifically showed gratitude to Beyoncé and Jay-Z for inspiring her.

“They told me ‘You need to do this on your own. You already know what it is, you got all the tools. The legal s**t that you’re going through right now, I know you’re learning something right? So you should be able to figure out how to get ahead,’” Megan said, according to The Root .

The Grammy winner also thanked her fans, aka The Hotties, for making her summer tour a success.

“I feel really appreciative that I have so many Hotties that wanna come see me do my thing,” she said. “Like, I performed my whole body of work on this tour and just to see how many people wanna come out and turn up with me in their cowboy hats and their chaps and their anime clothes… we had a blast and we’re still having a blast, we’re still on tour.”
