Many dogs don't like bath time, so it makes sense not to look forward to carrying out this necessary evil. But however much your dog hates taking a bath, there's a good chance it's nothing compared to the way a cat feels about them. There are a million different tasks — pet care-related and otherwise — that I would happily do before I would ever want to give either of my cats a bath, and that's really say something. Plenty of cat parents out there dread the moments where this needs to happen, as few and far between they may be.

The feeling is very mutual, and some cats out there will most certainly hold a grudge against their humans for inflicting this level of torture on them. For example, the poor cat in this video.

On Monday, July 1, @omavery shared the aftermath of giving her white Himalayan cat a bath... and judging by the amount of hair this cat has, I don't doubt that it was no easy task!

This kitty might be clean, but she is absolutely not happy about it. "I bet y'all can't guess who's mad they got a bath," the cat's mom says in the background of the video, panning to her cat.

There she is, glaring at the camera with eyes that practically look like lasers. I've never seen a cat wrapped up in a blanket and all cozy on the couch looking this mad, but there's a first time for everything.

In fact, she's so mad that commenters are worried for her mom's safety. "That baby is fuming," one person wrote. Another said,"now because of you all of us are in danger!"

She should probably sleep with one eye open tonight...

    Why Do Cats Hate Baths?

Sadly, cats are basically predisposed to hate water... and baths include a lot of water.

According to what certified feline training and behavior specialist Molly DeVoss told Rover, cats have evolved in dry climates , so being in water doesn't feel natural to them, and they're also not huge fans of the feeling of being wet.

“By nature, a cat prefers to be ready to flee any potentially dangerous situations, and when their coat is wet, it makes that more difficult,” DeVoss said.

Unfortunately, the only way to make bath time easier for cats is to give them baths more often so they have the chance to get used to the water. The earlier in their lives you start, the better — if your kitten is regularly exposed to water, they won't have a negative association with it.

The good news? Your cat will only rarely need a bath, especially if they are an indoor only cat. So at least there's that?
