Thursday - Happy 4th of July:

    • The high-pressure ridge from the eastern Pacific will move into the Pacific Northwest.

    • This will start a long hot and dry period lasting into next week.

    • High temperatures will reach the lower to mid-90s in lower elevations and the 80s in the mountains.

    • Clear skies will make for great evening firework displays.

    • Light winds, generally under 10 mph.

    • Dry conditions with afternoon and evening humidity levels down to 10-20%. Be very careful with fireworks to avoid starting fires.

    Long Term: Friday through Tuesday

    • We are expecting the hottest temperatures of the summer so far.

    • An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for most areas (except the mountains) from Friday through the middle of next week.

    • High temperatures are likely to exceed 100°F starting Saturday for most areas.

    • Fire weather concerns are low due to weak winds, despite very low humidity.

    • Overall, expect hot, dry, and clear weather.
