    LIST: Sandbag distribution locations across the Valley

    RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — As our meteorologists continue to keep an eye of the tropics and Hurricane Beryl, cities across the Rio Grande Valley are establishing sandbag distribution sites.

    Residents who are interested in sandbags are asked to visit the following distribution sites.

    Cameron County

    Cameron County Precinct 1, 2, 3, and 4

    • The Cameron County Precinct one, two, three, and four announced its sandbag ditribution for Friday, July 5 from noon to 5 p.m. The event will be open until supplies last. The sandbags are pre-filled and ready for pick-up. The sandbag distribution locations are the following:
      • Commissioner Precinct 1 Warehouse: 2050 S. Browne Ave., Brownsville, TX 78521
      • Commissioner Precinct 2 Warehouse: 7092 Old Alice Road, Brownsville TX 78521
      • Commissioner Precinct 3 Warehouse: 26945 FM 510, San Benito, TX 78586
      • Commissioner Precinct 4 Warehouse: 26623 White Ranch Road, La Feria, TX 78559

    Hidalgo County

    Donna

    • With proof of residency, residents will be allowed six sandbags and business owners can get up to eight sandbags. Distributions will take place at the Public Works Department, located at 1304 Silver Avenue.
    • Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Edinburg

    • The City of Edinburg is providing a sandbag distribution for residents within city limits on Friday. The distribution will take place from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. or at the Edinburg Service Center, located at 1201 N. Doolittle and Edinburg Municipal Park located at 714 S. Raul Longoria. The Service Center will offer drive-thru distribution while supplies last and Municipal Park will be self-serve. There is a limit of six sandbags per household and eight per business.
    • Distribution will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. if weather permits. In the event of severe weather, the distribution will be paused as staff will be required to respond to public safety needs.
    • The Hidalgo County Precinct Four announced its sandbag distribution taking place on Friday, July 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, July 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at M. Road Recovery Center (1124 N. “M” Road).

    Linn San Manuel

    • The Hidalgo County Precinct Four announced a sandbag distribution taking place on Friday, July 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Parque Veteranos Linn San Manuel (22300 FM 1017). Those who are picking up sandbags must have proof of Pct 4 residency or businesses in a rural county area. The distribution is a self-service, bags and sand will be provided, residents must bring a shovel and gloves. There is an eight-bag limit per household and 10 bag limit per business.

    McAllen

    • The City of McAllen announced sandbag distribution will be available on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Westside Park (1000 S. Ware Road). Proof of residency, such as a utility bill is required. Crews will provide bags and shovels. There is a limit of six bags for residents and 12 bags per business.

    Mercedes

    • The Hidalgo County Precinct One announced a sandbag distribution on Friday, July 5 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sunrise Hill Park/Pct—1 operations facility (5230 Mile 11). The sandbag distribution is a self-service and drive-thru operation, while supplies last. There is a limit of six bags per vehicle.

    Mission

    • The City of Mission announced sandbag distribution will be available on Friday, July 5 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Speer Memorial Library located at 801 E. 12th St. and Sharyland High School, located at 1106 N. Sharyland Rd. Proof of residency is required and you must live within Mission city limits. Crews will provide bags and shovels. There is a limit of six bags for residents and ten bags per business.
    • There will also be a second sandbag distribution on Friday, July 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2894 W. Mile 7 Rd. and 2401 N. Moorfield Rd. Sandbags will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    Palmview

    • The City of Palmview announced sandbag distribution will be available on Friday, July 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. next to the new Palmview Municipal Library at 505 Palmview Commercial Drive. Proof of residency, such as a utility bill is required. Crews will provide bags and shovels. There is a limit of six bags for residents and eight bags per business.

    San Juan

    • The Hidalgo County Precinct Two announced its sandbag distribution on Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Precinct Two field operations facility (4011 South Veterans Road). Those who are picking up sandbags are asked to bring an ID. This sandbag distribution is for Hidalgo County Pct two residents only. There is a four sandbag limit per household.

    Sullivan City

    • Sullivan City will distribute sandbags on Friday, July 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 1429 El Pinto Rd. Sandbags will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    Weslaco

    • The City of Weslaco is providing a sandbag distribution for residents. The distribution will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until supplies last at the Weslaco City Hall, located at 255 S. Kansas Avenue. Residents must bring proof of residency and their own shovels. There is a limit of six sandbags per household.

    Willacy County

    • Sandbag distributions for Willacy County residents will take place Friday, July 5. Residents will be allowed four sandbags per household.
      • Precinct 2 Barn: from 7:30 a.m. to noon at 20764 Highway 186, San Perlita.
      • Precinct 3 Barn: from 7:30 a.m. to noon at 10588 Business 77, Lyford
      • City of Lyford: from 7 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. until supplies lasts on Friday at Lyford City Hall.

    Lyford

    • Sandbag distribution for Lyford will be available Friday, July 5 from 7 a.m. until supplies last at Lyford City Hall located at 13550 Main Ave.

    San Perlita

    • Sandbag pick up for San Perlita will begin on Friday, July 5 from 8:30 a.m. at city hall located at 14168 7th St. and on Saturday, July 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents must bring proof of residency and identification. There is a limit of six bags per household. Residents can also get sandbags from the San Perlita Fire Department, which will be self-service.

    This list will be updated as cities announce their plan for a sandbag distribution
