1. Cloud White, Benjamin Moore

“White paint colors can be difficult to get right! This is my tried-and-true go-to because it’s got soft yellow undertones, making it a warm and creamy color,” Gater tells Parade . “I love that it’s not too yellow and not too stark white. It’s the perfect in-between while still being neutral. “

Where should you use it?

“I actually have this color in my living room!” Alexandra reveals.” It’s a great shade for those who love a neutral space, but don’t want to go too modern with their design. It also pairs great with boho or organic modern styles.”

2. Sulking Room Pink, Farrow & Ball

“This is a rich and moody pink that in some lights reads brown,” Gater explains. “It’s a soft hue that injects a room with so much warmth without reading too ‘pink’ and is perfect for those who live with people who ‘don’t like pink.’ It’s a really grown-up shade that doesn’t read juvenile in any way, so you get the best of both worlds!”

Where should you use it?

“I would use it in a bedroom, entryway or a powder room because it has a dark and moody vibe,” she suggests. “It’s also a muted color, so it also gives off lots of warmth.”

3. Ashwood Moss, Benjamin Moore

“This graphite gray color actually has undertones of green,” Gater points out. “It’s a dark, neutral shade, but the green undertones make it livelier and more dynamic than your average black or gray paint. I love using this color because the green undertones make it much more interesting and it’s just so rich and warm.”

Where should you use it?

“This paint is great for someone who loves dark and moody spaces, but wants a color outside of charcoal or navy. It works well for something like a dining nook,” Gater notes.

4. 36 Hours in Marrakesh, Backdrop Paint

“This is a bold, but earthy, pink. It’s bright, but warm at the same time and perfect if you’re looking to make a statement in a room,” Gater shares. “This pink is the perfect choice because its warmth is almost what makes it feel classic and timeless, and not just a trendy-of-the-moment pink.”

Where should you use it?

“This paint is made for someone who isn’t color shy, but still wants something that will stand the test of time and outlive trends. It’s a great tint to use in boho and maximalist spaces!” Gater recommends.

5. Lake Placid, Benjamin Moore

“This is a cool blue hue, with hints of violet and gray,” Gater discloses. “Blue is so difficult to get right, without it feeling too cold, but I love using Lake Placid because it’s still got some warmth to it, while being bright and vibrant.”

Where should you use it?

“I especially love using this shade as an accent color for home DIYs, like a kitchen hutch,” Gater states, adding, “This color is also one of my favorites because it pairs so well with black accents and warm wood tones.”

6. Jawbreaker, Backdrop Paint

“This is a warm mauve color, similar to Sulking Room Pink, but not as dark and brown,” Gater tells Parade . “This pink reads very warm and is definitely a timeless hue.”

Where should you use it?

“I have used this in a granny-chic living room and it worked so well paired with golden yellows and cool blue tones,” Gater says. “It made the area feel really cozy without darkening the small space. I even painted it on the ceiling!”
