BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – Bay County Commissioners awarded a contract for a road project in one of the fastest-growing areas of the county.

Emerald Coast site construction won the bid on the Minge Branch Drive project. Minge Branch Drive is located off Titus Road, just north of Highway 390, in the midst of several new housing developments.

The $2 million contract calls for paving .6 of a mile of the road, as well as constructing a roundabout and a stormwater drainage pond.

“This is helping with capacity in the development up around the eastern end of Lend Haven, an unincorporated bay county near North Bay Haven Academy, as well as the new Lindsay crossing development and Publix in the Titus development. So that whole area just going to be able to connect Minge Branch into Titus Road and from being able to do that, allow multiple ways of ingress and egress for the citizens that live over in that area,” Bay County Commissioner Doug Moore said.

Work should be underway in mid-August. The project will take about 18 months to complete.
