BALTIMORE, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Look at them go! In just one month, the two young trumpeter swans at the Maryland Zoo have grown to be half their parents’ size.

In an update posted Tuesday on the X platform, the zoo shared photos of the young swans — also called cygnets.

On June 3, the Maryland Zoo said the two cygnets were born “in their huge nest” in the Farmyard at the zoo after 30 days of incubation.

The cygnet’s parents will raise them and help them develop survival skills until they are “large enough,” the zoo said.

Trumpeter swans are the largest swans in the world and the largest waterfowl species in North America. They can weigh up to 30 pounds, according to the zoo.
