MISSOURI – Missouri’s electronic filing system for the courts has been down since Saturday, June 29.

This is the longest stretch Casenet has gone without anyone being able to access records.

Not only does this affect the public, but lawyers are also unable to access the system and do something as simple as filing charges.

Greene County’s system came back online at the end of the day on Tuesday.

During the outage, Greene County Circuit Clerk Brian Feemster said they were still able to get work done.

“We’re trying to minimize the impact on the people that we’re serving,” Feemster said. “And the courts are open today.”

Every office that uses Casenet or E-filing had to use the documents they already had on hand.

“Since there are no paper records, there is nothing to go back to until that electronic system is back up again,” Feemster said.

The Missouri Supreme Court said the issue started when an electrical failure damaged the equipment at one of the data centers. They say they don’t suspect foul play.
