Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.
Since 1960, eight players have worn No. 68 in New England, and with 68 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:
OL Atonio Mafi: 2023-Present
Mafi was a fifth-round pick of the Patriots in the 2023 draft out of UCLA, and he appeared in 17 games in his first season with the team. He'll be fighting for a roster spot during training camp this year.
OT William Sherman: 2021
Sherman was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in the 2021 draft out of Colorado. He appeared in one game for the team as a rookie before signing with the Denver Broncos in 2022.
OL Marcus Martin: 2020
Martin was a third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in the 2014 draft out of USC. After time with the 49ers (2014-16), Cleveland Browns (2017), Dallas Cowboys (2018), Seattle Seahawks (2019) and Detroit Lions (2020) he signed with New England and appeared in one game in 2020.
OT LaAdrian Waddle: 2015-18
Waddle went undrafted in 2013 out of Texas Tech and signed with the Detroit Lions. In his third season, he was released and was claimed by the Patriots. In his four years with New England, he appeared in 31 games and helped the team win two Super Bowls. He finished his career with one season with the Buffalo Bills.
OT Ryan O'Callaghan: 2006-07
O'Callaghan was a fifth-round pick of the Patriots in the 2006 draft out of California. He appeared in 25 games over his two seasons with the team before finishing his career with two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
OT Tom Ashworth: 2002-05
Ashworth went undrafted in 2001 out of Colorado and signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He then signed with the Patriots in 2001 and appeared in 37 games over five seasons. He was on the roster for three Super Bowls.
OT Max Lane: 1994-2000
Lane was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in the 1994 draft out of Navy, and he appeared in 100 games with the team over his seven seasons. He was also named to New England's All-1990s team.
OL Calvin Stephens: 1992
Stephens was a third-round pick of the Patriots in the 1991 draft out of South Carolina, and he appeared in 13 games for the team before retiring after just two seasons.
OL Damian Johnson: 1990
Johnson went undrafted in 1986 out of Kansas State and signed with the New York Giants. After four seasons with New York, he played one year with the Patriots, appearing in all 16 games.
OL Mike Baab: 1988-89
Baab was a fifth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 1982 draft out of Texas. After six seasons in Cleveland, he spent two with the Patriots, appearing in 31 games. He finished his career with two more years in Cleveland and one final season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
OL Darryl Haley: 1982-86
Haley was a second-round pick of the Patriots in the 1982 draft out of Utah. He appeared in 57 games over his five seasons with the team. He finished his career with one year with the Cleveland Browns and one with the Green Bay Packers.
OL Terry Falcon: 1978-79
Falcon was an eighth-round pick of the Patriots in the 1978 draft out of Montana. He appeared in 18 games over his seasons before finishing his NFL career with the New York Giants in 1980 and played for the Arizona Wranglers of the USFL in 1983.
OL Bill DuLac: 1974-75
Dulac was a seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams in the 1973 draft out of Eastern Michigan. He spent one season with the Rams before playing in 26 games for New England over two years.
TE Tom Beer: 1971
Beer was a second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 1967 out of Houston. After three seasons in Denver, he joined the Boston/New England Patriots for three years and appeared in 42 games, recording 25 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns.
OT Karl Singer: 1966-68
Singer was a first-round pick of the Boston Patriots in the 1966 AFL draft out of Purdue as well as a 19th-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 1966 NFL draft. He opted to play for Boston and appeared in 39 games over three seasons.
