Bridge repairs to begin on US 54 in Meade County

MEADE, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation says bridge repair work will begin on U.S. Highway 54 in Meade County.

Crews will begin work on the bridge located about 3 miles west of Meade, on July 15. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during repair work, and traffic signals will control traffic through the work zone, where lanes will be reduced to a width of just 12 feet.

Work on the $847,656.44 project is expected to be completed in November. PBX Corporation & Subsidiary of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, is the primary contractor.
