As July 4 approaches, Lower Hudson Valley residents are planning get togethers and barbecues and going to fireworks shows throughout the area. But some slight chances of showers throughout the day on July 4 may put a damper on plans.

The sun seems to be uninterrupted Wednesday with a possible high of 83 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday may get a little windy, however, as some clouds roll in during the evening for a slight chance of rain in the evening after 2 a.m. Low temperatures are expected at around 67 degrees.

Fireworks, parades and barbecues may get a little wet during the day Thursday with a 30% chance of showers. The day looks partly sunny with a high of 86 degrees, but the chance of rained out plans may continue into the afternoon with potential thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

The low chance of showers and thunderstorms may also continue into the evening, potentially pausing local fireworks shows. A mostly cloudy evening with a low of 70 degrees may obstruct the view of colorful skies in the area.

A mostly cloudy Friday also brings a potential chance of showers, with a 30% chance of thunderstorms after noon. High temperatures are expected to reach 89 degrees during the day. In the evening, the chance of thunderstorms continues and temperatures could dip a bit to around 71 degrees.

The last of the rain is expected Saturday with cloudy skies, showers likely throughout the day and an additional chance of small storms. Thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m. A mostly cloudy evening with temperatures around 71 degrees could also bring some thunderstorms.

Sunday, the sun is expected to come out once more with a high of 90 degrees during the day. Some clouds could roll in again overnight as temperatures are expected to cool to around 69 degrees in the evening.
