INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Several rain and storms chances return through the end of the week.

    This morning:

Humidity is up big time across the area here this morning. Temperatures are hovering in the low to mid 70s, making it feel much more uncomfortable than the previous mornings this week.

    Wednesday:

Hot and humid conditions returned today, with highs pushing close to 90°. With dew point temperatures in the low 70s, expect heat indices near 100° this afternoon.

We’re keeping an eye out for a complex of storms in Illinois. We expect those to weaken a bit, as it does run into slightly drier air over our state through the morning. That said, there could be a few isolated storms that sneak through in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Our greatest risk for thunderstorms won’t come until much later this afternoon, but more so later tonight. Any storm has the potential to become severe, with damaging winds being the primary concern.

    Wednesday night:

Scattered storms increased later this evening into the overnight hours. There is potential for heavy rain at times as we roll through the overnight hours. Overnight lows only fall to the lower 70s.

    4th of July:

The holiday has rain chances, but I don’t think the entire day is wet. It appears that we’ll have some scattered rain and thunderstorm chances in the morning hours. If that holds true, we could stabilize the atmosphere and source some dry time once we head into the afternoon hours for our Thursday. There will be some scattered rain chances for the evening hours, which would mean fireworks festivities could be wet in spots. The thinking is that widespread rain and storms are not likely, but a few areas could see some strong to severe thunderstorms during this time frame.

    Friday:

There are some leftover showers for Friday morning; otherwise, we’ll be dry and partly cloudy to roll through the end of this week. High temperatures will top out in the lower 80s.

    This weekend:

The rest of the weekend looks wonderful. Saturday expect sunshine with highs into the lower 80s. Sunday will be partly cloudy with slightly warmer with highs into the mid 80s.

    8 day forecast:

Seasonable temperatures expected to open up the work week next week. The pattern does appear to be somewhat unsettled with rain chances for Monday and Wednesday of next week.
