June recruiting round-up: Which Palm Beach County prospects committed, took official visits

The heat of camp season is among us, Palm Beach County.

Free from the school year, local athletes spent the month of June posted up on their social media accounts sharing memories from college visits around the country. Arms wrapped around some of the biggest names in the Power 5, donning some of college football's most iconic uniforms.

It's been a minute. So as the regular season nears and schedules get even busier heading into August, let's catch up on what's gone down so far this summer.

Which Palm Beach County football players committed in June?

Jamar Browder and Caden Gordon, NC State

High school: Santaluces

Two is better than one, and Browder and Gordon and big three-star wins for NC State's 2025 recruiting class.

The Wolfpack receives a strong, lengthy receiver in Browder and a whole lot of upside in Gordon at his new(er) position of cornerback.

Browder held offers from a number of Division I squads, including Louisville, NC State, Syracuse, Boston College, Georgia Tech and Pitt.

Gordon was bound for a similarly overwhelming slate of options, but cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell swiped up the under-the-radar recruit before he could fully break the surface.

Jaylin Brown, Louisville

High school: Cardinal Newman

It didn't take long after Brown's visit on May 31 for him to decide that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of Palm Beach County great Lamar Jackson and take his talents to the Ville.

One day after an OV to Georgia Tech, the three-star announced his commitment to Louisville, which will add pure speed to the Cards' arsenal of offensive weapons.

Deandre Desinor, West Virginia

High school: Atlantic

Although Palm Beach has yet to see Desinor compete in an Atlantic uniform, the four-star running back's commitment to West Virginia has made his billing that much higher.

The Mountaineers have undergone a bit of a makeover. After last year's trip to the Duke's Mayo Bowl, they're set to field a revamped, transfer-studded secondary among a depth-filled defense and a tough core of returning players on offense. That and a gritty schedule in 2024 should lay a successful foundation for Desinor to contribute to in the coming years.

Preston Douglas, South Carolina

High school: Benjamin

New beginnings all around are ahead for Douglas. Recovery from last fall's season-ending injury at Jupiter is complete. The offense at his new school, Benjamin, is excited to have a talent that can supplement the loss of top athlete Amaree Williams.

And now, the Douglas household will be divided between the ACC and the SEC, as older brother Luke navigates a new journey playing tight-end at Florida State, while Preston spends his last fall of high school football cheering on the Gamecocks as a South Carolina commit.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee among stops for undecided Ty Jackson

Seminole Ridge's sought-after linebacker recruit, ranked first in the nation, was out of office for the month of June.

Instead, he was talking business on the road.

Jackson started his camp tour with an official visit at Georgia on the 7th, followed by Florida on the 14th, and a jam-packed 21st with visits to Alabama and Tennessee. Still, as the days count down his fourth and final season with the Hawks, the 6-foot-1, 200 pound steamroller is still undecided on where he'll spend the next four years. With upwards of 30 offers, the options are pretty limitless.

More locals who spent June on tour

Adam Balogoun-Ali, Benjamin

Balogoun-Ali is on deck for a major junior year campaign and college coaches around the country are trying to buy in before another boom in the four-star's recruitment. Breakout campaigns as a freshman and sophomore put the 6-foot-2, 215 pounder in front of programs like FSU, Kentucky, and UF, all receiving unofficial visits from Balogoun-Ali in June.

There's far more where that came from. The uncommitted 2026 recruit has offers from over 20 schools, including Miami, Tennessee and Wake Forest to name a few.

Waden Charles, Palm Beach Central

Charles took his first OV of the summer to see the Arkansas Razorbacks. Shortly after Central teammate Kamare Williams committed to Arkansas on May 21, Charles decommitted from the University of Miami and made way for Fayetteville a week later.

Gus Malzahn and the Golden Knights at Kadare welcomed the physical 6-foot-2, 182 pound threat for his most recent official visit.

Dylan Frechette, Cardinal Newman

UMass has become a hot spot for Palm Beach County recruits in recent years, from former Central quarterback Ahmad Haston to a recently graduated Da'Marion Alberic out of Atlantic.

A couple of weeks ago, Frechette took his first-ever official visit to see the Minutemen. At 6-foot-5, 355 pounds, it wouldn't be a shocker to see this one's draft stock go up as a senior. However, with close ties on the recruiting trail like Newman football offensive coordinator and athletic director Ryan Partridge, it also wouldn't be a surprise to see UMass be the team to get the big guy in the long run.
