The Fourth of July will offer plenty of fireworks in the Kansas City area — as well as lots of music. And in many cases you can enjoy both as most of the largest celebrations will feature live music before fireworks light up the sky.
But the biggest musical event of the week will come two days later, when country star Kenny Chesney plays at Arrowhead Stadium.
Here is a music-with-fireworks rundown, with fireworks starting at dusk:
▪ Stars and Stripes Picnic with Lost Wax, Goodfoot and more at National WWI Museum and Memorial, 3 p.m. theworldwar.org .
▪ Independence Day Festival with Morgan Evans, George Birge and Big Time Grain Co. in Gardner, 5 p.m. gardnerkansas.gov .
▪ Star Spangled Spectacular with Justus West, The Champagne Band and more at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park in Overland Park, 5 p.m. opkansas.org .
