A heat advisory will be in effect from noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday in Texas County. Heat index values will range between 95 -110 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

Isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday into July 4. There is a slight (2 of 5) risk Wednesday and Thursday.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday with damaging wind gusts as the main severe weather risk. Storms could produce efficient rainfall rates and localized flooding may occur.

The National Weather Service said persons should remain weather aware and have multiple ways to receive weather information and warnings. Check the forecast for updates before going to bed, and keep a phone on overnight, it said.
