Red Swan K-drama Episode 2 Recap & Spoilers

Popular K-drama, Red Swan , aired a brand new episode 2 on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 4 p.m. KST on Disney Plus. The series follows the story of Oh Wan-Soo ( Kim Ha-Neul ), a popular golfer, who marries the conglomerate Hwain Group’s heir. She leads a charitable foundation and crosses paths with her bodyguard, Seo Do-Yun ( Rain ), after a threat to her life. Eventually, the duo discover hidden truths about the business as the latter hides a secret.

Episode 2 of Red Swan took viewers on a journey of Oh Wan-Soo’s life. The instalment documents her rise from being dirt poor to becoming a successful golfer, her entry into the Hwain Group and her eventually leading the conglomerate’s charitable NOW foundation. In the meantime, she also grew closer to her bodyguard, Do-Yun after witnessing her husband have an affair with her sister.

This week’s episode of the K-drama began with the Hwain Group witnessing a brutal murder. The servants were enquired by the police investigating a murder case. They also asked the servants if Oh Wan-Soo and Seo Do-Yun were lovers or having an affair. While one servant disregarded the rumor, the other claimed it to be true.

Oh Wan-Soo’s journey to becoming a successful golfer

After seeing Do-Yun as part of her security team, Wan-Soo attended her party with her husband and Hwain Group heir, Kim Yong-Guk. She reflected on her poverty-stricken life when she was young. Her mother was the Group Chairwoman’s golf caddie in 1990, who was fired by the latter. As she and Wan-Soo left the conglomerate, the former stole two golf clubs that belonged to the Chairwoman’s sons.

Since then, Wan-Soo began practicing golf to make money from the same. Her mother advised her to perfect the sport and rise from their poverty. She quit school to practice and work part-time as a caddie. One day, her mother suggested she go to the US to compete and make more money. What began as one competition led her to become a successful golfer and get her name in the Hall of Fame.

However, her mother turned out to be a gambler, who used Wan-Soo’s money. Eventually, she cut ties with her.

Oh Wan-Soo witnesses her husband’s affair

During the party, Oh Wan-Soo’s sister asked her husband, Kim Yong-Guk, to follow her. Unbeknownst to her, the two left the party to spend some time alone. Meanwhile, the sister’s son felt sleepy, so she went to look for her. However, as she reached the room, she found her sister being intimate with her husband. Seo Do-Yun followed her and stayed outside the room.

When Wan-Soo seemed unbothered, her sister and Yong-Guk realized she’d known about their affair. She confronted them only to advise that they could’ve been discreet with their actions. Wan-Soo then headed back to the party and danced with Yong-Guk, pretending that they are a happy couple. Later, she had an argument with the Chairwoman over the matter. She assured that she wouldn’t divorce Yong-Guk if the latter would let her run the foundation peacefully.

Previously, it was shown that Wan-Soo had a son who she could not spend time with. While it remains unknown what happened to the son, she remained determined to run the foundation and help the needy.

Wan-Soo took to drinking at night after the party when she reflected on her marriage with Yong-Guk. By 2011, she was a successful golfer. The Hwain Group had sponsored her golfing career. That is when she met with her now-husband. He had asked her to leave the sport and get married to him. She agreed and met the Chairwoman with her brother. Meanwhile, the Chairwoman insulted her mother and boasted about sponsoring her professional career. However, Wan-Soo maintained that she became a successful golfer all by herself.

The Chairwoman then joked about killing one of Yong-Guk’s ex-girlfriends. This is when Wan-Soo realized her true nature. Furthermore, she asked Wan-Soo to take care of the foundation, while signing a non-disclosure agreement with her brother.

Seo Do-Yun guides Oh Wan-Soo to her room

A drunk Wan-Soo left the bar only to fall and be rescued by Seo Do-Yun. She asked him to join her in the lift and escort her to her room. As she struggled to open the door, he offered to help her. This is when she asked if he wanted to spend the night with her. However, he helped her get in and asked if she was unhappy or lonely. When Wan-Soo denied these claims, he asked her to rest.

Meanwhile, Yong-Guk arrived at Wan-Soo’s room and knocked on the door. She asked Do-Yun not to open the door. Outside, Mr. Park intervened, asking Yong-Guk to head back. Inside the room, Wan-Soo and Do-Yun shared glances. The following morning, there was significant tension between the two before they left.

What happens in Red Swan Ep 2’s ending?

Seo Do-Yun finds crucial evidence against Hwain Group

The same morning, Mr. Park escorted Do-Yun to the Hwain Group’s Grand Palace, which was the conglomerate’s main residence. As they settled into the basement headquarters, he assigned Do-Yun to serve Wan-Soo. Do-Yun first put up a picture of him and Jin-Hyuk on his table. Mr. Park asked he if he found anything about Jin-Hyuk’s death during the three months he stayed in Manila. However, he revealed that he was yet to find anything useful.

After discovering that Mr. Park served Yong-Guk and had previously given money to potentially harm Wan-Soo, Do-Yun suspected that Yong-Guk wanted to kill his wife. However, he refrained from asking any more questions. He was on his way to meet Wan-Soo when he found a crucial piece of evidence that Jin-Hyuk had left inside their photo.
