‘Come On! You Know Better!’ Jean-Pierre Shoots Down Newsmax Reporter Shouting About Biden Being ‘Disabled’ During Briefing

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shot down Newsmax Chief White House Correspondent James Rosen as he shouted a question about President Joe Biden being “disabled” — but another reporter took up his question later.

Tuesday’s White House press briefing was dominated by questions about President Biden’s debate with former President Donald Trump and the calls for Biden to drop out that have dominated post-debate coverage.

Rosen interrupted ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott to shout a question, and Jean-Pierre blew him off. But later in the briefing, Andrew Feinberg referenced Rosen’s question and elaborated on it — drawing a terse, definitive response from KJP and a reference to “the other guy”:

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: He’s talked about his age. He’s joked about his age many times before. And so you heard that directly from and we are acknowledging what people are saying. But we do believe this was a, and in this instance, it was a bad night.

JAMES ROSEN: Is he disabled?

RACHEL SCOTT: One more–

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: No, no! And let me let me finish with your colleague, please. And–.

JAMES ROSEN: Okay. You can come back.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: I know but shouting out, come on! You know better. You know better! Come on!

RACHEL SCOTT: Just just one final question–.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: And so that’s going to be important as well.

ANDREW FEINBERG: And I would follow up–.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: Sure.

ANDREW FEINBERG: One of one of my colleagues, behind me, shouted, a similar question to what I’m going to be asking you.

ANDREW FEINBERG: But I think given–.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: I don’t remember the question–.

ANDREW FEINBERG: –given what happened on Thursday, given the reporting in the New York Times and other outlets about the president’s more frequent lapses and losing his train of thought, all of us saw what happened on Thursday where he simply could not form coherent answers to many or some, if you will, of the questions, and appeared to lapse into nonsensical with answers at the end, we beat Medicare for instance.

I’m going to ask something delicate, and you may not like it. The president may not like to hear it if he’s watching, but I think the American people need to get a yes or no answer on this.

Does President Biden, at 81 years old, have Alzheimer’s, any form of dementia or degenerative illness that causes these sorts of lapses? And it’s a yes or no question. And if you don’t know, why don’t you, as one of his senior staff members, know that yes or no answer?

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: I have an answer for you. Are you ready for it?

ANDREW FEINBERG: Yes.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: It’s a no! And I hope you’re asking the other guy the same exact question.
