MSNBC’s Symone Sanders-Townsend and Melissa Murray traveled to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania the Sunday after last week’s CNN debate and found swing state voters unhappy with both candidates and their performances.

The network spoke to seven Black women voters in the critical swing state and found some were quickly ready to back a plan to replace President Joe Biden . Others like Democratic strategist James Carville have called for the president to be swapped on the ticket amid age concerns and an admitted lacking debate performance .

“I hoped that both candidates will drop out of the race. Both. I didn’t like either one of them,” a voter named Izetta said in reaction to the debate.

She recalled being “embarrassed” about the state of the country when she recently traveled overseas.

“I didn’t think they represented the United States well, and to Joy’s point, being in a different country, I traveled outside the country awhile ago to visit Joy, and I get it, people are like, ‘what are you all doing? What are you all collectively smoking?’ It’s embarrassing. So I wanted them both to drop out,” she said.

Two other voters in the room argued for Democrats sticking with Biden, arguing it would be “impractical” to replace him this late, though one admitted “another path forward” needs to be found and the other referred to Biden as “feeble.” Another voter enthusiastically backed age limits and term limits for politicians.

A voter named Clarke fully backed replacing Biden, saying she was concerned about his ability to run the country at 81.

“I wish they would both drop out. I’m a bit worried about Biden’s ability to run a country,” she said. “I don’t know if he’ll be able to do it if he is elected for the next for years and I do think he has other options within the party who could step up and carry out similar things that he wants to carried out. I just don’t think it should be him.”

When Murray pointed out that Trump is only a few years younger than Biden at 78, Clarke made clear she has the same cognitive fears about Trump that she does about Biden.

“Not just age, but mentally,” she said about Trump. “That man is unhinged, absolutely.”
