In a horrifying event, the husband of a missing mom of five from Indonesia found her being eaten by a 30-foot python after discovering her shoes.

Siriati, 30, was on her way to meet her brother so they could take a trip to a local market in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi to buy medicine for her youngest three-year-old child on July 2 when she was attacked by the enormous snake . The python surprised her during her solo walk through the woods, coiling around her before beginning to swallow her head-first.

Adiansya, 30, Siriati's husband, became worried when he received a call from her brother stating that she had not shown up. Following the same path she had taken earlier, Adiansya stumbled upon her sandals dispersed in the grass.

In absolute horror, he discovered his wife being consumed by the snake, with only her legs visible from the snake's mouth just 16 feet away. Despite killing the snake and dragging out his wife, it was too late as she had already passed.

Upon hearing the harrowing news, the local community members rallied in shock, recovering Siriati's lifeless body and bringing it back home for her burial scheduled for the following morning in the village of Siteba. Iyang, 38, the secretary of Siteba Village, explained the wrenching scenario, adding how the fateful ordeal occurred at approximately 7.30 am local time.

Iyang said: "The victim wanted to go out to buy her child's medicine. Her youngest son is three years old. She was visiting her brother and had to go through the forest first. Her brother waited for a long time, but the victim didn't come. That's why her brother called the victim's husband. The husband said that Suriati had been gone since early morning.

"So the husband went looking for his wife, he found her sandals on the road in the middle of the forest. He suspected that they had been eaten by a snake because there were snake tracks there. This snake more or less dragged the victim five meters from the location."

The Police Chief of Walenrang, Adjunct Police Commissioner Idul, said: "The condition of the body was intact but perhaps the bones had been crushed. The body is already at the funeral home for a religious ceremony."

He also highlighted that there was an injury on the victim's leg, suspected to be from a snake bit. He asserted: "We think it was a snake bite. After being bitten, it immediately wrapped itself around the leg and finally paralyzed the victim."

Just last month, a similar chilling incident took place apart when a woman was devoured in the Indonesian village of Kalempang. Farida, 50, was swallowed whole by a python as she trekked alone through dense woodland.

Her body was horrifyingly extracted from the snake posthumously. Indonesia, composed of over 17,000 islands, is a hotbed for pythons due to its abundant food supply in the lush jungles.

This rich habitat allows the python population to flourish and reach deadly sizes capable of swallowing humans. The somewhat limited urban development further aids in their uninhibited growth.
