Fans Reveal Ideal WNBA Teammate For Caitlin Clark
By Angelo Guinhawa,

Indiana Fever rising star Caitlin Clark is already one of the best passers in the WNBA despite being a rookie. She's currently averaging 7.1 assists, which is the third-best mark in the league. But imagine if she has a target the same height as Victor Wembanyama, to whom she can easily pass and rely on to finish.
Well, that thought is exactly why many WNBA fans believe that Chinese basketball prodigy Zhang Ziyu, who has been going viral for her height of 7-foot-3, is the perfect teammate for Clark.
Zhang made headlines after her performance in the FIBA Under-18 Women’s Asian Cup sparked plenty of reactions. Among all the teenagers in the tournament, it's hard not to notice the 17-year-old center with her towering height.

As the buzz around Zhang intensifies, many couldn't help but bring up the possibility of taking her talents to the WNBA. And as mentioned, several hoop fans think the so-called "Female Yao Ming" or "Wembanyama" would be a perfect fit alongside Clark.
"If the Indiana Fever gets the #1 pick next year, they better take this woman. Can y’all imagine Caitlin Clark and Zhang Ziyu playing together as a team?" a fan wrote.
Another one said, "Caitlin Clark and Zhang Ziyu would be the WNBA's Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal."
"Caitlin Clark to Zhang Ziyu gonna break records," an intrigued supporter shared.
"Caitlin Clark and Zhang Ziyu in the 2025-2026 WNBA season," a fourth commenter shared while sharing highlight tapes of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal together.
"She should team up w Caitlin Clark and form the Splash Sisters," a social media user added.
A commenter on Athlon Sports furthered, "She must go to the Indiana Fever team! She's going to clobber anything on her way! And the harshest reality is coming to the WNBA once she joins it!"
For what it's worth, Zhang Ziyu did express her desire to play in the WNBA in the future. However, for those thinking that she should declare for the draft soon, it should be noted that the WNBA requires international draftees to be at least 20 years old during the year of the draft.
With that being said, we're still a couple of years away from the Clark-Zhang tandem, if ever it will really happen.
